On May 15, cows of the Galloway breed arrived at Pedvale Art Park, and on May 17 Romanov breed sheep also joined them. It is a mobile herd of the project GrassLIFE by the Latvian Fund for Nature, which will take care of natural meadows this summer at Pedvale.
The task of the mobile herd is to graze the valuable natural meadows in different parts of Latvia, which are hard to reach for mowing. Grazing is one of the best ways to help meadows regain plant diversity.
It is important for Pedvale Art Park visitors to understand that it is not allowed to approach the cattle and they should not be fed.
